With low-cost, high-density Ultrium Linear Tape Open (LTO), tape libraries are clearly the most efficient and cost effective storage for backup, data protection and archiving.

Over twenty tape library models provide combinations of capacity and throughput to match any storage management requirement. At the enterprise level, Qualstar libraries house up to 128 tape drives and 11,000 cartridges, and store more that 16 PetaBytes (native) of data.

Qualstar tape libraries are designed for continuous, unattended operation and allow simultaneous reading and writing to multiple drives. They also offer key features such as barcode readers to scan labels on cartridges, and an I/O Port for importing and exporting individual tapes under application control.
